Dear postpartum me,
You are beautiful. You are amazing. Your body has done something so remarkable. Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding – you are a hero. Promise me, promise me, that as you take the next 6 weeks (and beyond) you’ll just enjoy your baby and soak up every moment of newborn goodness. Promise me that you’ll also take time to notice, honor, and appreciate your postpartum body. She is raw and soft and vulnerable – don’t rush her or pick at her with harsh expectations. Like your sweet baby, cherish and be gentle with her, remembering that this season is so short.
Love, very very very pregnant me.
I LOVE this. I’ll probably be looking back at it in the weeks after i have my baby. I remember hating my belly after having Jack, and just WAITING for it to go down, but it took a really long time. I really like the line you wrote “notice, honor, and appreciate your postpartum body”, instead of just accepting it.
Thanks for posting 🙂

I was the same way! I actually just found a bunch of photos I took of my belly after having JJ (progress photos) and I deleted them! This time I’m just going to let time do it’s thing and trust that my body will find its rhythm in time! So glad this resonated with you ❤️
